The Myths

This cycle represents my attempt to illustrate mythological themes and their interpretations and to bring about a confrontation between them and contemporary reality. Citing Katarzyna Marciniak: “Mythology forms our identity; it offers us a chance to understand one other and provides us with a sense of commu­nity and awareness of our roots — something essential to boldly look into the future”.

Medallic art is for me a means of personal artistic expression. For this reason, I often go beyond the classical perception of a medal with respect to its subject matter, production materials, and form. My work is only limited by the size of the medal, which is subordinate to the small and up-close nature of this art.
